Cain Five, Napa Valley, 2015

Wild flowers, smokily reductive notes and aromatic spices inform the nose of this complex Cain Five. Cracked spices and sweet dark berry fruits roll across the palate, where ripe tannins jostle with more fleshy mid palate fruit than you sometimes find. This has a savoury mineral element running through the core, a backbone to the richly woven tapestry of cool earth and smoke, graphite and blackberry. An intense Cain Five that should open up from 2022.
