Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County, 2020
Fragrant, gentle cherry notes and lovely fine tannins here. The whole presentation is one of delicately handled fruit, gently extraction, easy flow but also crisp precision. Refined, cool, breezy, with long haunting length. Extremely easy to drink. This hails from some of the sandier sites in Ryan's portfolio, is aged in predominantly old oak for 12 months. Fermented with a small proportion of stems to give added aromatic complexity.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County is layered and detailed on the nose, with wild red berries and orange peel accented by wafts of tea leaves, licorice and floral perfume. The light-bodied palate is soft and supple with restrained yet nuanced fruit and a long, spicy finish. This is dangerously easy to drink! 248 cases were made.
The 2020 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County ) is gracious and so appealing. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, dried flowers and incense all grace this layered, wonderfully expressive appellation-level Pinot from Ryan Deovlet. The 2020 is a blend from Zotovich, La Encantada and Sanford & Benedict, all top sites in the Sta. Rita Hills. Once again, the appellation Pinot here is terrific, as it so often is.
