Shake Ridge, Syrah, 2020

The 2020 Syrah Shake Ridge is a wild, unruly wine. Here, too, the scorching hot, dry year ratcheted up the flavor intensity, adding both darkness and richness. I don't see much of the true character of Shake Ridge, but the 2020 is a good wine, if taken on its own terms. Slightly astringent tannins are a reminder of the challenging growing season.
