critic reviews
Di Costanzo's 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Di Co comes from a single source in Oak Knollthe only vineyard they picked that year (the day before the Glass Fire). It features a delicate balance of herbs and cassis, with a subtle note of licorice. Medium to full-bodied, it's streamlined and not overdone. Instead, it's nicely balanced, finishing long, with slightly dusty tannins. There are 500 cases of this impressive, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Cabernet Sauvignon DI CO is the only Cabernet Erin and Massimo Di Costanzo made in 2020. It emerges from the Rafael Vineyard in Oak Knoll. What comes through most is the extreme concentration of a warm, drought year. Black cherry, plum, gravel, licorice, incense and mocha are all dialed up. There are some angular contours in the tannins, but all things considered, the 2020 DI CO is a resounding success for the year. I would prefer to drink it on the earlier side.
