Sonoma County

An historic Californian county stretching from San Pablo bay up to Mendocino County in the north. The dividing line with the Napa Valley runs along the length of the Mayacamas range. The capital is Santa Rosa, though the town of Healdsburg is the wine capital of the country. The following AVAs all lie within Sonoma County: Alexander Valley, Sonoma Mountain, Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Northern Sonoma, Moon Mountain, Knights Valley, Green Valley of Russian River Valley, Fort Ross-Seaview, Dry Creek Valley and Rockpile, Chalk Hill, Bennett Valley and Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak.
