Chambolle Musigny, Les Fuées, 1er Cru, 2015
More tightly-coiled than the Charmes, rich hedgerow fruit offset by refreshing bitter sweet herb notes, ruby grapefruit, limestone and red cherry. Cool crushed rocks and red fruit characteristics dominate the finish, great tension. One of Chambolle’s highest 1er Crus vineyards, Ghislaine’s parcel is over 75 years old and produces intense, deeply complex and very refined wines.
critic reviews
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru has a gorgeous, seductive, pure bouquet that epitomizes everything there is to love about a premier cru from this appellation. The aromatics... you almost want to smooch with them to a Lionel Richie ballad. The beautifully balanced palate presents filigreed tannin, perfectly pitched acidity and good substance, and hints of graphite surface toward the pixelated finish of this brilliant Chambolle-Musigny from Ghislaine-Barthod. Stunning. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
