    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Attractive, playful red and black fruit notes not confined to black raspberry, cherries and ripe strawberries, fine tannins play off a fresh acidity to make for a tasty, engaging Pinot. Fermented with 30% whole bunches, placed at the bottom of the fermenter, the balance destemmed, hand plunged twice a day to keep as many intact berries as possible, and matured in 20% new Burgundy barrels.

    Matthew Luczy,

The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate is classically dark-fruited on the nose, revealing dried citrus, underbrush and dried flower aromas after a short time in the glass. The palate is supple and succulent before transitioning to a similarly juicy, refined finish driven by lifted acidity and a sapid core. A classic iteration of Mount Eden that leans toward the fruit-driven side of the ledger, this wine should benefit from additional time in the cellar and is best enjoyed while the more-structured recent vintagessuch as 2021, 2019 and 2018continue to evolve.
