Riesling, Grand Cru, Schlossberg, Cuvée Ste Catherine, 2016

The 60 year old vines that produce the Schlossberg St Catherine cuvee sit right at the heart of the Schlossberg vineyard. These granite mid slopes produce wines of highly complex minerality but also power and presence. The 2016 is a remarkably pure wine that feels like it has been hewn from the rock, as long stony flavours resonate around the mouth leading to a shard of lime and orange blossom on the finish. This is all on complex minerality, extract and meditative, grown up granite Riesling impact.
