Riesling, Grand Cru, Schlossberg, 2020
Another hugely expressive Riesling, Schlossberg hails from vines planted on the poorest granite soils at the top of this great Grand Cru vineyard. Bursting with wonderful floral notes, dried flowers, chamomile buds, fine herbs and fresh lime, it hits the palate like an train- intense saline notes alongside a powerful driving minerality derived from the granite soils. Taut and powerful, yet fine boned too.

Bottled in December last year, the 2020 Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling offers pure and refined but also intense, lush and generous tropical fruit with passion fruit, papaya and mango aromas intertwined with the crystalline finesse and flintiness of the Schlossberg granite. Lush and round on the palate, this is a precise, saline and finely grippy Riesling with fine tannins and intense, sustainable fruit with stimulating bitters on the finish. It's salivating due to the really fine and crystalline acidity. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2022.
