critic reviews
Deep garnet-purple colored. Features bright, sparky notes of black raspberries and red currants, plus nuances of dusty soil, dried sage, and black olives. The light-bodied palate delivers good intensity with grainy tannins and bright freshness, finishing with an invigorating lift.
The 2024 Cantemerle has a nicely composed bouquet with blackberry, sous-bois and subtle cedar scents percolating through with time. The palate is fresh and vibrant with saturated tannins, a keen line of acidity, well-integrated new oak and a very well-proportioned finish. This exceeds my expectations and is a great success in the context of the vintage. It could end up at the top of my banded score.
Great quality, sappy, fragrant, savoury Cabernet Sauvignon aromatics. On the palate things open to show squid ink, juice, raspberry puree, liquorice root, really enjoyable, good texture. 48hl/h yield, 35% new oak, Laure Canu director, SMA Group owners. New winery to be ready for the 2025 harvest.
Aromas of sweet blackberries, minty cassis and pencil shavings introduce the 2024 Cantemerle, a medium-bodied, bright and lively wine built around sweet, youthfully chewy tannins. It's a solid effort for this large southern Medoc classified growth.
