The 2025 Cissac has quite an intense nose, but it lacks the spark and brightness of some of its peers... lighten up! The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, fine acidity and gentle grip, with a slightly toasty finish that needs more grip and personality. Not bad, but not memorable.
Great colour, deep rich plum, and the hedergrow and liquorice character gives appellation typicity, but things are a little sharp and overly concentrated. Harvest September 11 to 26, 19hl/ha yield. Vialard family owners for several generations.
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec, the 2025 Cissac reveals a slightly introverted yet elegant bouquet marked by lead pencil and dark fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, dense, tense and linear, it shows a distinctly Médocain profile, with a firm, well-structured tannic frame and good length. This is a wine for the cellar.
