    A very intriguing nose, which encompasses sweet honeyed fruit, a generous dash of incense and visible alcohol. Usually the sturdiest of the Sauternes in this tasting, the 2005 Tour Blanche does not disappoint and will give great pleasure to those who prefer a richer style of pudding wine.

    Pale to medium lemon-gold in color, the 2005 La Tour Blanche sashays out with loads of baking spices, stone fruit preserves, and mineral notes with a waft of caramel. It fills the mouth with bright stone fruits and spices plus a racy backbone and beautiful harmony.

    Yellow-gold color. Sexy aromas of ripe apricot, pear, honey and nutty oak show a distinctly exotic side. Then supersweet and concentrated on the palate, showing more sheer sweetness and power than any particular flavor component. Almost sugary on the finish, but long and quite unevolved. Today this gives the impression of being a wine with too much of everything: I'd lay it down for a decade.
