Deep garnet-purple colored. Delicately scents of black raspberries and strawberries, plus hints of sautéed herbs and pencil lead. The light-bodied palate is lightly chewy with a lively line and savory finish.

The 2024 Pique Caillou feels a little woody on the nose, obscuring the fruit behind it. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins, grainy texture and decent grip, but it lacks some bandwidth on the finish. I prefer the white this year.

Sappy, understated, leafy but well constructed, they have done a good job of carefully ensuring the wine has fresh fruits and charm. 30% new oak. 44 hl/ha yield.
