Puligny Montrachet, 2023
A very fine extract here brings a wonderful control and freshness, and sets it apart structurally from the brothers’ Chassagne this year. Delicate citrus and stone aromas abound in this cool and intricate white Burgundy. From numerous plots including a particularly fine parcel on a slope called Les Meix, near the grands crus, next to Les Enseigneurs. Fermentation and élévage take place in 350-litre barrels, with no bâtonnage, for 12 months before six months in stainless steel
critic reviews
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from four lieux-dits. It has a lifted nose with green apple, a touch of petrichor and just a small reduction. The palate is well balanced with lovely poise. Touches of noisettes and orange rind build through the harmonious and persistent finish. Excellent.
