The 2016 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with brambly red fruit, mulch, mint and light marine scents that gradually gain momentum with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and savoury with grainy tannins that frame the meaty red fruit. Touches of Provençal herbs emerge towards the rustic and muscular finish. Quite dense, this is a Clos de Bèze for the long term.
