Chambolle Musigny, Les Charmes, 1er Cru, 2022
Tasted immediately after Véroilles, Les Charmes offers a more seductive and deep vision of Chambolle, and yet this looks to be a particularly sophisticated rendition. “We’ve worked hard on the harvest date for Charmes, picking a little earlier than in the past,” Arthur explained. As a tactic it certainly seems to have paid dividends in 2022, producing a silky, flowing, supple Chambolle of sweet cherry fruit, savoury spice and melting tannins. Bravo.
critic reviews
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a very impressive bouquet with delineated black cherries and wild strawberry fruit, with lovely mineralité tucked underneath. The medium-bodied palate has filigree tannins. It is very elegant and approachable (apparently, it has always been generous). It finishes supple and pliant - this will be difficult to resist young.
