Gevrey-Chambertin, 2016
justerini & brooks tasting note
Juicy, floral and packed with lively fruit. Notes of plum, cherry and damson. Full-bodied and grippng but not at all heavy. Clear, luminous fruit shines through the structure. Excellent Gevrey villages. This comes from two plots on rich clay soils, Les Carrougots and En Jouise.

Good medium red. Sexy aromas of raspberry, black cherry, currant, smoked meat and earth. Offers good vinosity but the wine's chocolate and herbal elements convey an impression of irregular ripeness. There's decent material here but the wine is a bit tart and lacking in flesh, sweetness and depth. Slightly medicinal on the back end. An awkward showing today.
