Morey St Denis, En La Rue de Vergy, Rouge, 2021
Such finesse! Fine lines, lacy fruit and a delicate structure define this En la Rue de Vergy. Pretty and harmonious with a refreshing touch of salt amongst the elegant red fruits. One of the finest examples of this cuvée we’ve tasted. Just 20% whole bunch this year. Located just above Bonnes Mares, En la Rue de Vergy is planted on poor, rocky limestone soils and this comes through subtly here.
critic reviews
Notes of sweet red berries and plums mingled with notions of cinnamon and rose petals introduce the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis En la Rue de Vergy, a medium-bodied, pure and ethereal wine with lively acids, melting tannins and a mineral finish. It's derived from a stony site, high on the slope above Bonnes-Mares.
The 2021 Morey Saint-Denis En la Rue Vergy, which has slightly less whole bunches (20%), has a light red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is well balanced, quite pretty with fine mineralité towards the finish, delicate but not fragile. Will be irresistible for the next 6-9 years.
