Echézeaux, du Dessus, Grand Cru, 2014
Stylish, elegant and polished, a beautiful Echezeaux. A fabulous satin-like texture melts effortlessly into the fruit, providing it with an important structure without ever being too dominant or forceful. Layer upon layer of bramble, black cherry, dark chocolate and coffee bean characteristics. A racy, fine-tuned style of Echezeaux from the high "Dessus" part of the vineyard, the 6ha heart of Echezeaux.
critic reviews
(from 50-year-old vines):Good dark red; not as lucid as the Chapelle. The nose shows a strong musky, meaty reduction, with aromas of dark raspberry, violet and mocha emerging with some aeration. Sweet, smooth, plush and fine-grained, offering impressive volume without any undue weight. Finishes suavely tannic, seamless and very long. Tremblay reiterated that she would wait until June or July to bottle her top 2014s. Superb potential here.
