Clos de la Roche, Grand Cru, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Some structure here along with strong asian spice notes of cinnamon and star anise. Warming generous red fruit flavours of cherries and strawberries with damson hints. Seductive, satisfying and sumptuous whilst keeping its elegance. Rarely more than 4 barrels are made from a tiny 0.35a plot

The 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru works much better on the nose compared to the 2019 with crisp red cherry and raspberry fruit, very perfumed and delineated. The palate is framed by fine tannins, quite sappy with decent weight, maybe missing a little weight on the finish considering the vineyard in question, yet balanced. To put it in banal terms, just enjoyable.
