Château de Meursault
Beaune Grèves, Les Trois Journaux, 1er Cru, 2018
justerini & brooks tasting note
An enticing, open but complex nose. The palate is as complete and pitch perfect as you could want. Voluptuous, rich brambly fruit with notes of fresh raspberry and loganberry. Ample and smooth, mouth-coating flavours with a clarity of flavour and mineral energy that leaves your mouth refreshed. Troix Journaux refers to the old measurement for land one horse could work in a day, equating to 0.33ha. This is a spectacular parcel of 0.99 hectares in the upper part of Beaune Grèves, the poor soil here gives wines of incredible finesse and delicacy.
