Beaune Grèves, Les Trois Journaux, 1er Cru, 2021
A 1 ha plot, brilliantly situated just below the Enfant Jesus plot. Very aromatic and expressive, with melting tannins, and wonderful flow and length. This has both texture and complex aromatics, red fruits, some briary spice. Very transparent, this is really rather lovely and will drink beautifully in a few years’ time. Supple and energetic; a wonderful combination. A hidden gem.
critic reviews
The 2021 Beaune Grèves Les Trois Journaux has a perfumed and quite floral nose and wilted rose petals infusing the red berry fruit, with traces of Earl Grey. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, not amazingly complex but there is decent matière with a rounded, smooth finish that is very appealing. Maybe not long-term, but it will still give a decade of drinking pleasure.
