Meursault, Les Perrières, 1er Cru, 2017
More mineral and more forceful than the Charmes. There is a buttery core of fruit, too, a lushness to go with the vital, savoury rock salt characteristics. Long, well-balanced, powerful and assured. From two parcels within Perrières Dessus, just above their Bourgogne Terroir d’Exception, and 55 year-old and 45 year-old vines.
critic reviews
The 2017 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru is clean and crisp, almost clinical, on the intense nose, but I feel it’s beginning to close down for a phase. The palate is very well balanced and full of tension, but strict and linear, with a saline finish and not much else... for now. Cellar this for several years and you will have a serious Les Perrières on your hands. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.
