Denis Mortet
Gevrey-Chambertin, Lavaux St Jacques, 1er Cru, 2014
justerini & brooks tasting note
Beautiful fine herb and strawberry notes, high-toned flavours of fine red fruits set upon a steering rudder of minerality. Intense, yet beautifully open knit, finishing with a fine stony character. A fabulous, cool, high Gevrey vineyard next to Clos St. Jacques.

(70% new oak; 15% vendange entier): Deep, bright red. Deep, smoky scents of dark raspberry, game and minerals. Juicy and very intense but youthfully imploded, conveying the sappiness of the vintage in spades. A wonderfully taut, mineral-driven Lavaux with a sappy, saline character to its dark berry fruit. Finishes rich and firmly tannic, with terrific lingering perfume.
