Meursault, Les Perrières, 1er Cru, 2020
Closed initially, the nose offering just a whisp of oak spice. The palate is more open-knit with lovely citrus, white and stone fruits and super tension and focus. Minerally and stony across the mid to back palate, and while this adds some crunch and firms up the ripe fruit, it does so seamlessly. From the higher part of the Perrieres vineyard, so particularly mineral even for Perrieres. Aged in 20% new oak barriques, so there is minimal oak influence on the flavour of this wine.
critic reviews
The 2020 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a well-defined nose with perhaps more mineralité than others. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth entry, light tropical notes with hints of peach and apricot, quite sensual towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. Delicious, but maybe it just needs a little more tension. Closure: Diam
