Nuits St Georges, Aux Thorey, 1er Cru, 2016

Slick Vosne-like tannins encase a powerful, dense, rich palate packed with bramble and black cherry fruit with a note of creme de mûre. The back of the palate betrays its Nuits origins with a chewy meatiness and then finishes with a gentle floral flourish. ‘Nuits Thorey is a wine that betrays this vineyard’s origins on the north (Vosne Romanée) side of Nuits St Georges with its svelte engaging character. Fermented with two-thirds whole bunches and aged in 50% new oak.
