Pommard, Les Pezerolles, 1er Cru, 2011
Floral, velvety fruits, mid-weight, sufficiently dense and complex but not heavy. A far cry from typical Pommard; lovely plummy fruit, notes of forest berries and cherry, mineral nuances and soft smooth tannins, very pretty indeed. 2/3 whole bunch fermentation.
critic reviews
The 2011 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru has a detailed and harmonious bouquet with what feels like a very well integrated stem addition that lends complexity. Floral scents of violet and peony emerge with time and enhance the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a crisp line of acidity, quite minerally/stony towards the finish with impressive length if not the depth that one would expect in a more benevolent growing season. Fine. Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting.
