Domaine François Lamarche
Vosne-Romanée, Aux Malconsorts, 1er Cru, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Even more tightly-coiled than the Croix Rameau, brawny and rather surly to begin with but reveals good fruit expression and complexity with some aeration. There is a muscular structure but it is toned and not out of kilter with the fruit. Crisp crunchy, earthier raspberry and loganberry fruit with a touch of bramble. A vineyard that sits next to the Boudots of Nuits-St.-Georges that can produce similarly powerful, gripping wines. The other side of the Vosne commune to Suchots and totally the other side of the spectrum in terms of style.
