Corpulent and texturally very appealing. A little closed, initially, the flavours need coaxing out as this is very concentrated. Deep, dark berry fruit, concentrated rich flavours of morello cherry and bramble, a hint of creme de mûre. Hearty and all-enveloping. A 3.7 hectares Monopole of Domaine Gouges; long-lived, always one of the more classic muscular style Nuits of the region.
