Clos de Vougeot, Grand Cru, 2019
A wine of breadth and power, the Clos de Vougeot is deep and rich with creamy dark fruit and only a trace of warmth on the finish. Earth, blackcurrant and sweet raspberries are easily distinguished in the mass of silky, refined fruit on display. Pliant and curvaceous but with a finely woven acid line, it strikes a great balance, with the requisite depth and intensity of a Grand Cru and the detail and finesse that comes from a being great, detail-orientated grower.

The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a deep color. The beautifully defined bouquet offers blackberry, raspberry, incense and crushed stone aromas, all incredibly detailed and precise. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, perfectly pitched acidity and a structured finish that delivers good grip and a touch of black pepper on the spicy aftertaste. Seriously fine.
