Lavaut St. Jacques is always at the smoother, more seductive end of the Gevrey spectrum. This is one of the stars of Philippe Drouhin’s cellar this year: lovely cherry and cherry blossom character, exquisite perfumed fruit of loganberry and sloe, lacy refined and sumptuous, really long and fine-tuned.
