Puligny Montrachet, Les Garennes, 1er Cru, 2017

An intense Garenne - one of the most concentrated Sauzet has made. Rich and long but a lot more tense than the villages. The stony terroir character comes through strongly but perhaps this is a more thickly padded Garenne than usual. Aged in 10% new oak barrels. One of the estate’s and Puligny’s highest vineyards planted on poor stony soils.
