    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Follin Arbelet, Aloxe Corton, Clos du Chapitre, 1er Cru, 2015

Exquisitely fine Aloxe, velvety ripe forest fruit with touches of red cherry and damson. Pure crystalline and fresh, pretty and charming, but with a gentle grip, giving focus and structure to the wine. Long, pure and floral on the finish. A beauty that should age gracefully. The lighter limestone clay soils of the Clos du Chapitre tends to make for a finer, rounder and fruitier style of Aloxe than the classic vineyards such as Fournières and Vercots.

The 2021 Aloxe-Corton Clos de Chapitre 1er Cru has a more assertive and complex nose compared to the Village Cru, with touches of loam and undergrowth. The palate is slightly high-toned on the entry and a touch spiced. However, it doesn't quite kick on towards the finish due to the growing season rather than any winemaking. Overall, not a bad Aloxe-Corton by a long shot, but the Les Vercots is better.
