Corton Bressandes, Grand Cru, 2015
Bressandes is usually one of the bolder, larger-framed and extroverted wines in the cellar. Firmer and more structured than the Aloxes, but there is so much to like about this, it’s so complete and has such great fruit expression. Ripe, dark, sweet fruit flavours of bramble, blackthorn and damson, rich and warming but well-defined. Full to the brim of complex fruit, spice and undergrowth characteristics. Mighty yet so appealing and attractive.
critic reviews
The 2015 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a bold and generous but smudged nose that lacks real complexity. The palate is chewy and dense, displaying moderate grip and a very conservative finish that feels a little sterile and tastes of sour cherries. Not my cup of tea. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
