Pommard, Vieilles Vignes, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
Great drive and minerality, coming from shallow limestone soils. Crunchy, taut red fruit, fine-tuned and detailed with crisp flavours of cherry, plums and damson. A very fine Pommard villages. A veritable old vines cuvee split across three lieux dits - Cras, Vignot, Chagnieres - half of the parcels was planted in the 1950s, the rest in the 1980s.

The 2020 Pommard Vieilles Vignes, one of the Domaine's most important cuvées, comes from limestone soils at the top of the incline. It has a delightful bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, fine acidity, a touch of sour cherry on the finish with a spicy aftertaste.
