Pommard, Vieilles Vignes, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
A combination of early-picked Cras, and later-picked Vignots and Chagnieres that offers beautifully pale and fine-boned fruit with touches of hedgerow berry alongside cherry and rosehip notes. There’s real finesse here. An extremely fine Pommard. A veritable old-vines cuvée split across three lieux dits - Cras, Vignot and Chaniere - half of the parcels were planted in the 1950s, the rest in the 1980s.

The 2023 Pommard Vieilles Vignes contains Les Cras, Les Vignots and La Chanière fruit. It has a tender, tertiary bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins. It's brisk and bright with a healthy dollop of white pepper on the finish. This is simple but effective.
