Puligny-Montrachet, Les Nosroyes, 2018
Glorious nose. A supple, silky and wonderfully balanced Puligny with very clear fruit that balances a raciness with great charm and silk. Subtle, yet with a focused inner intensity. No hard lines here, but plenty of excitement. What more could you want from a Puligny villages? A very fine Puligny village vineyard towards the top of the slope on the north side of the village, just underneath Les Perrières, here there is a predominance of limestone. A well-drained site that typically yields finely-etched but ripe-fruited wines with a chalky finish.
critic reviews
The 2018 Puligny-Montrache Les Nosroyes comes from a 1.2-hectare vineyard within two plots. It has a perfumed, slightly resinous bouquet with melted candle wax scents infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fresh, quite tensile opening thanks to a tang of orange peel and Seville orange marmalade. Good persistence on the finish. This is a well-crafted Puligny to enjoy over the next six to eight years.
