Le Montrachet, Grand Cru, Marquis de Laguiche, 2007
Tight and a little closed as to be expected, but with aeration this starts to open out well, revealing a lovely violet fragrance, and the palate is powerful and deeply concentrated. Perfumed fruit flavours are beautifully delivered across the sumptuously creamy texture, with notes of acacia and honeysuckle, sweet ripe fruit and a mineral vibrancy, culminating in a mile-long finish.
critic reviews
The truly amazing 2007 Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche is a vinous work of art. Still incredibly young, the 2007 offers a tight core of remarkably pure pomaceous orchard fruit, lemony minerality and a hint of waxy butteriness that is hard to forget. An infant but already splendid, the 2007 is going to develop into something even more memorable than it already is.
