St Aubin, Les Charmois, 1er Cru, 2019
justerini & brooks tasting note
Very intense and incisive. Fruit driven with a sunny, mirabelle and nectarine character dominating, the texture is silky and the flavours enlarge and expand across the palate. Rich, generous and broad flavours garlanded by racy, vibrant acidity. The soils are a little deeper here than in the St Aubin Pitangerets and the vines better exposed, facing south. The wines tend to be riper, fruitier and more generous in their youth as a result.

Exhibiting aromas of pear, warm bread, orange oil and iodine, the 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois is medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, with tangy acids that girdle its fleshy core of fruit. Long and saline, this should develop well in the cellar.
