Robert Chevillon
Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Perrières, 1er Cru, 2014
justerini & brooks tasting note
Long ripe berry, griotte and kirsch flavours, mixed with strong mineral and stone notes. One of the more expressive, open-knit wines in the Chevillon range, and one of the best balanced and most high-toned Perrieres he has made. A powerful blend of ripe fruit and an earthy complexity. From the poor stony soils of Perrières, this is a Nuits in the classic mould.

(one of the last 2014s to finish its malolactic fermentation here): Good medium red. Very ripe, slightly high-toned dark fruits on the nose. Tight and energetic in the mouth, conveying a firm mineral quality to the intense raspberry and smoke flavors. Harmonious acidity frames and extends the smoothly tannic finish.
