Robert Groffier
Bourgogne, Pinot Noir, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
More depth and structure than the Passetoutgrain whilst retaining a similar vivacity and nerve. Bright, crisp fruit notes of raspberry, bramble and cherry. Fresh, ripe and edgy. Two thirds of this comes from the Vougeot commune and one third Morey St Denis. De-stalked and aged in one and two-year-old barrels.

The 2020 Bourgogne Rouge has a precise bouquet with commendable precision for a regional red, attractive rose petal scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, fine acidity, taut and fresh with good weight on the finish. For, me this is a level up from Passetoutgrain.
