    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Very salty again with fine grained crunchy tannins holding the sweet red fruits as this intense Sentieres grips the palate with fleshy, flowing, deep and broad fruit notes and a remarkable sense of pitch and persistence. A parcel of 80-year-old vines situated below Bonnes Mares planted on iron-rich, clay soils giving full, structured wines. All fermented with whole bunches and aged in a maximum of 30% new wood.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru offers darker, earthier fruit than the Les Seuvrées, with touches of loam and wild hedgerow, all finely delineated. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and tensile, with sappy red fruit and a linear, reserved finish. You would think this comes from a cooler vintage, as it is very classical in style. Recent bottling puts the reins on this Chambolle at the moment, hence the plus sign next to my score. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
