Hautes Cotes de Nuits, Rouge, Les Dames Huguette, 2022
A more sophisticated fruit nose defines Les Dames Huguettes, briary polished berries with more than a touch of Cathiard seduction. The most precise and silky of all the Hautes Côtes wines. Long and absolutely lovely. A vineyard situated at the top of a slope above Nuits St Geroges; whose rows are planted east to west, neighbouring Chaumes, with an even greater proportion of limestone in the soils.
critic reviews
Cathiard produced fully 36 barrels of the 2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette, a medium-bodied, taut and incisive red redolent of plums, berries and petals. The soils here are stonier, so it's always the tangiest of his three Hautes-Cotes bottlings.
The 2022 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette comes from more limestone soils than the Aux Charmes. With fine delineation and transparency on the nose, the terroir comes through on this cuvée. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit with quite a sapid finish that begs another sip. Good potential.
