Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Rouge, Les Dames Huguette, 2023
Saline and lovely. Lively. Mineral. Fine red fruits with some floral notes. The most structured and focussed of the three Haut Côtes with a rockier, tighter core. This is really quite serious, with a glowing minerality at heart. Superb. A vineyard situated at the top of a slope above NSG whose rows are planted east west, neighbouring Chaumes, with an even greater proportion of limestone in the soils.
critic reviews
The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette, from a vineyard that touches the Aux Chaumes but has more limestone soils, shows a little more ripeness on the nose: more forward, vivacious red berry fruit mixes with hoisin. The palate is well balanced with dark berry fruit and a touch of cola. This has fine weight and focus, though perhaps it will require a couple of years to fully integrate.
