Tollot Beaut
Chorey Lès Beaune, La Piece du Chapitre, Monopole, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
Sweetly spiced with notes of crème de mure and mulberry on the nose, juicy black fruits and a concentrated core. Salty notes on the finish give a sense of momentum to the richness. From 70-year-old vines. Aged in a third new oak. Piece du Chapitre is a fine Chorey single parcel, a monopole of the Tollot-Beaut estate, that is influenced by the cool Pernand valley and as such, always one of the last to be harvested.

The 2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune Pièce du Chapitre, picked toward the end of the harvest, shows just a little overripeness on the nose, though not as much as the Bourgogne Côte d'Or. The palate is a little saccharine on the entry, plush and sweet with light aniseed notes on the finish. It is just a bit overripe this year.
