Blanc de Noirs, 2015
As a house with such a Pinot Noir heart, this cuvée gives a great idea of the beating pulse of the Maison. Produced exclusively from first press juice from Premier and Grand Cru sites in Mareuil-sur-Ay, Ay and Avenay it spent over five years sur lie prior to disgorgement. Brimming with deep, golden fruit, this is a vinous yet crisp expression of great Pinot Noir – loaded with notes of red fruit, ginger, fresh quince and spice. 2015 was a solaire vintage and the wine shows off all the charm you’d expect from such a year. Vinification takes place in a mixture of stainless steel and wooden vats – the former undergoing partial malo-lactic fermentation, the latter not. Bottled with 4.5grams of dosage.
critic reviews
The 2015 Extra-Brut Blanc de Noirs is bright and full of energy. Plum, pear, dried flowers, mint and dried savory herbs are very nicely delineated. Tasted next to the 2016, the 2015 comes across as a bit more cool and linear, with stronger mineral, floral and savory inflections. It, too, is very nicely done. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: February, 2022.
