The best "regular" Mont Redon I can recall tasting, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is wonderfully full-bodied yet silky and harmonious, while the nose offers gentle garrigue notes and purple raspberries. The tannins on the finish are supple, and the flavors add hints of cola-like spice to the minty-fresh finish. It's an assemblage of 60% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre and 1% other permitted varieties, aged in a 50-50 mix of barrels and tanks. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.
