Chateauneuf du Pape, Rouge, 2020
Good density and very complete, ripe flavours; leaning towards dark fruits, but with great freshness to it. Juicy plum and bramble fruit mixed with sweet spice character and a cherry touch providing some brightness and lift. The structure is supporting but not overbearing the open, easy fruit - guiding the wine to a clear and clean finish. A de-stalked blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 8% Mourvedre. Half Aged in oak barriques for a year, 30% of which are new, and half in tank.
critic reviews
Even better than when I tasted it the previous year, Mont Redon's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out remarkably youthful, bursting with scents of purple raspberries, sherbet, violet and cassis. It's full-bodied, supple but richly concentrated on the palate, with a long, silky finish.
