    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Ripe, fragrant fruit, very attractive, not at all heavy or dense. Perfectly weighted, elegant flavours of summer berries, cherry, garrigue, alpine strawberries and fresh raspberries. Moreish, easy and immediately attractive and not short of personality either. A Grenache dominated blend with some Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise, with a smattering of the other permitted varieties. All from vines aged between 25 and 80 years old. Fermented the traditional way, lightly pressed whole bunch in concrete vats followed by a minimum 18 months in large old wooden cask, bottled without filtration.

    Critic Reviews

    92/100
    Josh Raynolds,
    Vinous
(80% grenache, 6% syrah, 4% mourvedre and the rest everything else): Deep ruby. Ripe black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by potpourri, incense and licorice, with a smoky topnote. Sappy, focused dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are sharpened by juicy acidity and show very good depth. Lots of fruit here but there's good structure as well. Finishes sweet and long, with velvety tannins adding shape. As with the '12, there's a degree of elegance to this wine and less of the wild edge of the Pegaus of a few vintages back.
