Lush in its fruit, with high levels of ripe concentration corresponding to a particularly suave, present tannic structure, there is more than a little something of the clay and pocked, limestone rocky spice here. A gorgeous GG of irresistible refinement. From vines planted 20 years ago to the south of Malterdingen on similar yellow limestone soils to Bienenberg, the main difference is that the Alte Burg is more wind exposed and there is a uniformity of clones. Aged for around 18 months in French oak barrique.
